    About the author: Anna Onichimowska (1952) is a Polish poet, writer, playwright, author of books for children, young adults, and adults, as well as radio, film, and television scripts. She graduated in Polish literature and language from the University of Warsaw. She made her debut in 1980 with the poetry collection “If I Had a Horse” (Gdybym miał konia). She has received multiple awards for her work in Poland and abroad. In 2011, she was awarded a lifetime achievement award in the field of children’s literature by the Polish section of IBBY.
