- The tiles are made of 45% sawdust (from spruce and fir trees from PEFC-certified forest management), 10% chalk, 42% upcycled plastic, 3 % eco-friendly color pigments. The color pigments are mixed (integrated) within the toys, so it won’t be chipping off.
- 100% free of plasticizers, heavy metals, PVC, bisphenol A (=BPA) or other harmful contents.
- Bioblos are resistant to liquids and therefore easily washable in soapy water. Just put the blocks in the bathtub together with the kids and put them out in the sun to dry (the Bioblos, not the children).
- Please note, Bioblos are durable, but they are not indestructible! Because their high proportion of wood chips (which is a natural material) makes them somewhat more brittle. Natural materials also tend to be influenced by the changes in their environment more (well, after all that is what sustainability is about!), do no not expose it to excess heat or humidity, for instance.

And it is not only the million creative possibilities and the design that are inherent in Bioblo that set these cheerful building sets apart, but also the material they are made of! The team has cooked it up from a unique combination of wood chips, chalk, up-cycled plastic and organic pigments. Compared to classic wood, it makes the blocks more sturdy and durable, and also liquid resistant! So feel free to wash them with soapy water.

The toys meet all mechanical criteria of the European toy standard EN-71. The extensive quality control process includes a stress test, which checks the break the resistance of the blocks.
