Deborah Marcero: Čustva na plan

A charming picture book about a little rabbit with big emotions.

Leonard the rabbit dislikes feelings of fear, sadness, shame, anger, and loneliness. He tries with all his might to push away, suppress, and push aside these emotions. Then he comes up with a “brilliant” plan: he stuffs all his feelings into jars and hides them so they won’t bother him anymore. But when he even pushes excitement and joy into the jars because they caused him disappointment, he feels almost nothing anymore. What happens when so many emotions are suppressed that they can no longer be contained? The answer is simple: they come bursting out.

Emotions color our lives. Without them, life would be incredibly boring. Through the story of a rabbit who pushes away and suppresses his emotions, children learn what happens when we don’t allow ourselves to feel and that suppressed emotions need to be set free. It serves as an excellent starting point for discussing with children the importance of facing, accepting, processing, and sharing our emotions, otherwise they cause us problems.
