Janod: Happy Family (card game)

A classic card game that gets children talking, remembering and paying attention to what everyone else is collecting.

In Janod’s colourful version of Happy Families, players meet seven families from the funfair, from musicians and sweet sellers to champions of carnival games. Each family has five members to collect, and the aim is simple: ask the other players for the cards you need and complete as many families as possible.

The rules are easy for children from age 4 to understand, but there is more going on than simply collecting cards. Children need to remember who might be holding the card they need, notice what other players are asking for and formulate their own questions – naturally supporting memory, observation and language skills through play.
