- Material: Natural rubber (latex), hand painted with non-toxic paint. Natural rubber is a little more stretchable than plastic and “gives in” more when the baby bites it. Not even the sharp new teeth can break our natural rubber animals. They also do not contain the plasticizers (such as phthalates) that plastic contains and which can be toxic. Natural rubber toys are specially controlled so that the nitrosamines and nitrosatable substances that can arise during the manufacturing process should not be present in the final product. This also means that the risk of latex allergy is also minimized. Natural rubber should not be stored in direct sunlight or come into contact with tobacco smoke, because it can effect the toys, and nitrosamines can also develop.
- Allergy considerations: please note that despite the careful control, in some cases the toys can still trigger allergic reactions in case a child has latex allergy. If your child has latex allergy, avoid contact with natural rubber (latex) toys. In case of any other allergy history, it is recommended to consult with the child’s paediatrician before purchasing a rubber toy for them. In case of rash or any other sign of a reaction please contact your doctor.
Care instructions:
- We always advice you to clean the toy before the first use. To clean, simply wipe with damp cloth and use natural soapy water (and a toothbrush if needed), but do not sterilize.
- Please do not leave the toy on direct contact with sunlight or artificial light for long periods, because the color may fade, and it might change the texture of toy.
- The toys must be stored in a dry place. As any natural product, toys might start to mold if left on a wet or moist environment. Air drying between use is recommended.
- Do not put the toys in the fridge or freezer (for teething or any other reason) neither expose it to heat. Variations in temperature may affect the product’s shape and volume.
- Natural rubber is a natural material – it can deteriorate over time or less careful handling. If your toy becomes hard or sticky it is time to say goodbye to it.
Lanco toys are designed in Barcelona and made in Morocco. All of their products are EN71, ASTM and Reach Certified. Please note that the products are handmade as well as painted manually. As a result, small imperfections and inconsistencies are absolutely normal.
