Miroslav Košuta: Zmaj v parku

19,50

Once a peaceful city with splendid palaces, monuments, and fountains, is now completely overrun by cars. The bronze dragon is a somber reminder of heroic times in the midst of the city park, which remains the only oasis for retirees who can still hastily cross the streets, for grandmothers with babies in strollers, and for crowds of children dropped off by cars at the entrance. Where is the hero who will save the city from the modern plague—automobilitis? Is a quiet night without the honking of car horns, the whirring of engines, and the squealing of tires just a distant dream?

    Description

About the author: Slovenian writer Miroslav Košuta was born in 1936 in Sv. Križ near Trieste. After graduating from the Higher Real Gymnasium (now Licej France Prešeren) in Trieste, he initially enrolled in Slavic and Germanic studies at the University of Ljubljana. In 1962, he graduated in world comparative literature and literary theory. Already in his first job at RTV in Ljubljana, his work as the editor of youth radio programs was connected with young people. As an established poet, translator, playwright, and author of numerous radio plays for adults and children, he also dedicates himself to poetry for children. Playfulness and humor often manifest in wordplay and his characteristic, genuinely local vocabulary, which adopts its own melody even in prose.
