The month of Advent is definitely the best magical time of the year, when our days are marked by the lights, small creations, customs and joy. This year we celebrate 800 years since the first nativity scene was made, which was built by St. Francis of Assisi in Greccio, Italy. People from our country started to placing them up about 130 years ago, but the first sets were modest, just a holy family, a little shepherd and a few sheep. 

But the city of Bethlehem is stimulated children’s imagination by all the things were hidden in this little castle. Who is hiding behind the walls of the stone city and what lays under the houses? This mysterious colourful Bethlehem set consists of houses, the entrance to the city and the walls. Behind the walls, there are three Holy Kings, each with its gift in the form of a round log. The kings are accompanied with other figurines, such as shepherd, his daughter and a sheep. The colourful Bethlehem is packed in a cardboard box with the shape of the components and figures, so even tidying it up can become a nice playtime. This will be a perfect small world of endless ways to discover it during the advent time!

Tip: If you already have the set of Colourful Street at home, you can combine the two toys. The houses from the first can become the city of Bethlehem.

The toys of Primož Rojc are very distinct from any other toy in our offer – and that’s where their beauty lies also. They remind us of old, nostalgic toys made in the workshops of our grandfathers. They are made with heart, and also by hand, and the paints and finishes therefore are a bit more uneven, and a bit rougher. Each piece is unique, and we recommend it to people who appreciate handicrafts and homemade toys, and see value in their imperfections. By purchasing this toy you are also supporting a small Slovenian family workshop.

Primož, growing up in a family of carpenters, acquired woodworking skills himself. Every product is crafted by hand, bearing the distinctive charm of old-style, nostalgic toys.
