SKÅGFÄ : KLYV – My First Knife (cornflower)

21,00

There’s a moment in every kitchen when a small child pulls up next to you and wants to help — really help. The Klyv First Knife is designed for exactly that moment. With its wide, palm-friendly body and a finger loop that guides little hands naturally into position, it fits the way young children actually grip things, making cutting fruits and vegetables something they can do with real confidence, from around age 2 and up.

The wedge-shaped, non-sharp blade does the work without the worry. Children press down through banana slices, soft fruit, cooked vegetables, and feel the satisfaction of a task genuinely completed. It’s a Montessori-aligned approach to the kitchen: give children real tools, scaled to their abilities, and watch them rise to it. Motor skills, coordination, and a healthy relationship with food all follow naturally.

    About SKÅGFÄ:

SKÅGFÄ is a European design brand born from a simple, real wish: to give children tools that actually work for them. Founded by designer Cristina Falcon and rooted in the meeting point of Scandinavian simplicity and Mediterranean warmth, the brand creates products that fit naturally into family life, functional, considered, and made to last.

Their flagship product, the Klyv kids knife, grew out of watching small hands want to help in the kitchen before they had the skill or strength for a traditional knife. The answer was a real tool, thoughtfully redesigned for little ones, safe, ergonomic, and made with around 30% wheat straw to reduce plastic use. It’s the kind of object that earns its place on the counter.

SKÅGFÄ believes the kitchen is where families connect. Cooking together, even in small ways, builds confidence, motor skills, and a relationship with food that stays with children. Their products are a way of saying yes to that: yes, you can help, yes, this matters, yes, we do this together.
