Stockmar: Modeling Beeswax (12 colours)

27,90

Stockmar’s wonderful modeling beeswax is a unique sculpting medium for young children widely used in Waldorf homes and institutions. Its warmth, pleasant aroma and vibrant colors all serve to nourish their senses. Modeling together is not only a wonderful social activity, but also gives their little fingers the opportunity to build up those fine motor skills. Moreover, we love modelling beeswax because it doesn’t make a mess, and won’t crumble or dry out, and the colors remain vibrant and luminous over time. It can be reused over and over again, and – due to the preservative essential oils in beeswax – it is completely hygenic, too.

Tip: The wax sheets first need to be warmed up, before they can be moulded. Warm them with the palm of your hands, and use the time to tell a little story meanwhile to make time pass faster. Or you can also use a bowl of warm water to do the job instead you.

    Description

    About the product:

    • Article number: 85051200
    • Brand: Stockmar
    • The box contains 12 sheets in different colours, each measuring app. 10 x 4 x 0,6 cm
    • Colours of the set: 00 ivory | 01 carmine red | 02 vermilion | 04 golden yellow | 06 yellow green | 07 green | 09 blue | 10 light blue | 12 red violet | 13 rust | 15 black | 24 pink
    • Please note that Stockmar modelling waxes are solid strips, which must first be made soft and malleable. Warm the necessary amount in the palms of both hands and then begin to knead. After a short time, the material becomes so malleable that it can be modelled into any form, even extremely thin ones. This process is made easier if you store the Modelling Wax at room temperature before use. For smaller children, it can be pre-warmed near a radiator or in a bowl of warm water.
    • The essential oils in beeswax have a preserving effect, so it stays clean and hygenic to use for a long time. The modeling wax can be reused again and again. If you want to store used wax it is recommended to press it flat, which will make it easier to use it again later. But anything you have modelled can also again be reused after it has hardened.
    • The modelling beeswax is made in Germany complying EN71 regulations, and are completely non-toxic.
    • The Stockmar modeling waxes are partially based on paraffin (so they are not entirely natural), but they also contain 30% natural beeswax which makes their use an incredibly sensorial experience. It gives warmth, and also adds a pleasant beeswax scent. For a complete list of ingredients, and why the modeling wax sheets contain (only) this amount of beeswax, please click here to read it (in English) on Stockmar’s website.
    • Recommended age by the manufacturer: 3+.
    • Warning! Small pieces can pose choking hazard (if inhaled), so please do not give it to children under the recommended age. Younger children should be always supervised by adults when using art materials.

    About Stockmar:

Based in Schleswig-Holstein, the Stockmar company has been making quality products for art and art teaching for many decades. Hans Stockmar started with beekeeping products and beeswax candles in 1922. Acting on the suggestion of certain art teachers he soon proceeded to develop his modelling wax, and more than 50 years ago the classic Stockmar wax crayon was created. Over time and with Waldorf teachers, Stockmar created other products, most notably the wax crayon, watercolors and wax decorating sheets. Today Stockmar products are known around the world for their uncompromised quality and production adherence to high pedagogical, artistic, social and environmental standards. They are regularly subjected to testing by independent laboratories in Germany to insure their safety and purity. The company’s logo combines the hexagonal form of a beehive with Goethe’s colour circle, representing two essential characteristics of its products. Based on Goethe’s Theory of Color, the color range is consistent throughout the entire Stockmar assortment. Almost all of Stockmar’s art products are available in this wide range of colors which complement each other. Meaning a carmine colored pencil or wax crayon, is the same carmine as the watercolors, modelling beeswax and decorating wax. Therefore the mixing techniques of combining crayons along with watercolors produce a very harmonious effect. This specific choice of colors, the mutual harmony of the individual colors and the excellent mixing capabilities, is what we refer to as the “Stockmar Color Harmony”.
