SumBlox is a truly revolutionary toy! It allows kids to explore and discover maths on their own terms through an engaging hands-on play activity that they already enjoy: playing with blocks. These blocks are made entirely of numbers, and each number block has its value tied to its height allowing children to explore number relationships as they stack them. Children can learn to recognize numerals, explore addition and subtraction and practice basic multiplication, division, and fractions even. Maths won’t be scary anymore, just simply a natural part of their play!

The 43-piece Basic Set is perfect for homeschooling, as an introduction into the world of numbers and for a bit more complex play possibilities. You will be able to do complex additions and substractions, simple multiplications and divisons as well as fractions with it. You can also incorporate the blocks it into your creative building and numerical games.

    About SumBlox:

SumBlox, this revolutionary block set, was invented by an American master student, David B. Skaggs, who was a volunteer tutor of a primary school Maths student . The idea of this tactile manipulative material came up when David was looking for new ways to get his student engaged , and as traditional methods and games did not work. These math games were simply not designed well enough to hold a child’s attention for more than 10 minutes, and they also didn’t make the concepts any easier to understand, but often just rephrased paper exercises. Children learn the easisest through hands-on experiences, and SumBlox are a multi-sensory toy and tool that enables just that. Students can visualise the value of numbers through height: each block’s size is reflective of its numerical value. Seeing the mathematical problems take physical shape helps the child significantly in understanding and remembering primary maths concepts (addition to fractions). A great accessory for Montessori or Waldorf style learning, educators are describing SumBlox as one of the greatest learning tools available for children ages 2 and up.
