About Vilac:
Vilac is a legendary French toy maker who have been producing high quality wooden toys since 1911 and are based in the Jura mountains of France, the birthplace of the French toy industry. They are known for their classic designs in high quality materials and their professional craftsmanship. Their signature look is wooden toys painted in bright, high gloss colors that are just as stylish on the shelf as they are fun in the play room. A substantial portion of the production still takes place in the Jura mountains in northern France, but where production is outsourced to Asia they still pay strict attention to safety and sustainability. VILAC’S wooden toys come from sustainably managed forests, where biological diversity is respected. They use wood native to the region and replant them continuously. VILAC aims to exclude plastic, except when it is necessary for safety reasons -and this also applies to packaging. VILAC has already stopped using plastic windows on their French produced cartons and the policy is soon to be extended to the production taking place abroad.
