OUR STORY
OUR MISSION

Changing the world into a more playful place is too big of an endeavour to do it all alone! So we are forever grateful for our hard-working team and all the people who have joined us on mission over the last years and added so many talents, colours and well, a piece of their heart to our story. We like to think of them as the magic folk of the valley, just disguising themselves in human clothes.

As much as we would like to, we cannot list everybody here who has been contributing to our work, but we thought why not to give you at least a big virtual wave from our core team! So when you stop by in our enchanted little shop the next time, you can already greet a familiar face!

Noemi is our dreamer and visionary – or our Chief Play Enthusiast, as she likes to call herself sometimes for a playful pun. She has always wanted to make change in the world, but after her son was born, she realised it is not through high-profile corporate jobs that she can do it, but rather through PLAY! She came to believe that a better world starts with our children. She is a fierce advocate of a slow childhood as well as play- and nature-based learning, and has a deep interest in early childhood development. She moved to Slovenia from Hungary for love and nature, and founded Malih nog naokrog with her husband in 2019 in order to share her passion and to provide curated toys and materials for all parents who look with intention. Noemi is the one keeping contact with our wonderful partners, and she is in the pilothouse when it comes to daily operations and serving customers.

Favourite toys: Since she carefully selects every item that makes it onto our shelves, asking Noemi what her favourite to is like asking somebody to pick a favourite child! But if she really needs to choose – her heart secretly leans towards Grapat toys just a tad more! Oh, and of course her yellow Ocamora magic wand – because there is no problem or challenge she can’t fix with it!

As all dreamers need a meticulous realist by their side, Mitja has also been playing an essential role in the company’s life since co-founding it with his wife. He is a bit like Charlie (you know, from Charlie’s Angels): sometimes his work might be more invisible than of the girls’, but he is the one who makes sure everything is up and running. He ensures that all building blocks are in place and that visions are translated into plans. He eagerly takes up the task of organizational management, he loves numbers and business plans, and he is always on the quest to make our processes leaner and more efficient.

Favourite toys: Mitja is all for high quality, functionality and clever design – so, quite naturally, PlanToys is his pick! He’s been a real enthusiast since his son’s very first PlanToys – so becoming the Slovenian distributor of the brand is one of the steps in the company’s life that he has the most pride in!
