Djeco: Ludo Junior

€19,90

Ready, steady, go! The horses are lined up at the starting line, and the race to the finish is about to begin!

Djeco’s Ludo Junior brings the classic board game of Ludo to younger children with a shorter playing route and colourful wooden horses as playing pieces. The goal is simple: be the first to bring all three of your horses to the centre of the board.

Players take turns rolling the wooden die and moving their horses along the track, practising counting and number recognition as they follow the race. With fewer horses per player and a shorter route, games are quicker and easier for younger children to follow, making this a wonderful introduction to one of the best-known traditional board games.

Ludo is also a wonderful introduction to games in which luck plays an important role. A good roll can change everything, and even when you’re doing well, the next turn might not go your way. Children gradually learn that they cannot control every outcome, practising patience, flexibility and the ability to cope with frustration and disappointment. Alongside following rules, waiting for their turn and learning to win and lose, these are valuable social and emotional skills that develop through playing together.

    About Djeco:

Paris-based Djeco was founded in 1954 by Véronique Michel-Dalès, a woman and mother ahead of her time. Djeco was named after a little gecko, still visible in the company’s logo – a reptile that is said to bring good luck. At the time, Véronique created award-winning educational games for children that were beautiful as well as fun. Fast-forward to 1989, her son, Frédéric revived the small family business, taking it to the next level and creating the colourful Djeco universe as it is known today in more than 60 countries around the world. With a passion for quality, design and safety, these beautifully illustrated wooden toys are instantly recognizable: they have a wide range of toys, puzzles, board and card games appealing to many different ages. And also, in 2007, Djeco came out with a new line that revolutionised arts and crafts in the toy industry. They create fun and colourful kids’ craft sets: everything from origami kits, and fabric painting to DIY paper toys sets. Today, the French brand continues to innovate and collaborate with artists to create toys and games that are not only educational, but that kids everywhere want to play with!
