Plan Toys products are ethically made in Thailand from sustainable rubber wood, non-formaldehyde glue (which Plan Toys make themselves), organic colour pigments, and water-based dyes. As well as making FSC solid wood toys, some of their product are made of “Planwood” – an ingenious eco material made by compressing sawdust produced in their own factory. All products come packaged in recycled, environmental friendly packaging, and all of their toys conform with the European Directives for Toys (DIN EN 71).

Personally, I have found it very hard to find a shape sorter that can be used without an adult’s help, from slotting the shapes to emptying the box to start it all over again again. Whether the sorters couldn’t be emptied by my toddler alone, or the opposite: the lid was just so loose (in order to be operated by little hands, I guess) that it was coming off even when tossing and turning around. This sorter has a an innovative solution for this problem: the truck can be emptied by pulling a little string – a great fine motor excersise in itself! Besides, I’m all about toys that grow with our children, and it ticks that box, too! Once the child master shapesorting, it can used as a vehicle to toddler around the home, or later it is a fab toy to use with it removable little driver for imaginative play.
