    About Wee Gallery:

Wee Gallery – just like many wonderful things – started out as a love project of a wife and husband team, Dave and Surya Pinto. Being a graphic designer and teacher, they wanted to create toys and accessories which are not only appealing to design conscious parents but also add true value to infants’ lives in the early formative months. Today they are known internationally for their whimsically illustrated, almost exclusively black and white products which don’t only delight the smallest ones and help their development, but also grow with them over the years. Mama Bear’s Favourite:

We were inspired by Montessori from very early on. I’d read about this kind of clutch ball, and I was looking for a long time to find one  – when I came across Wee Gallery, and they lovely monochrome version of this traditional toy. The fact that it is black and white has also an extra added value to the toy, developing baby’s vision and brain. This kind of ball is also called an “Amish puzzle ball”, and it was popularized recently by Montessori educators. It is not an actual puzzle, but babies examine it as if it were one. They are used in many ways from 3 months of age on: for a start you can attach a strap and hang above your baby from 3 months of age to promote kicking. At about 5 months your baby will begin to move the ball with her hands and begin to try and clutch it. The segments make it easier for a baby to clutch than a regular ball. And when it drops, it won’t roll far. It’s the perfect first ball for baby.
