Handmade Happiness. Rubens Barn is a Swedish company born (as many wonderful things) out of two mothers’ dream. They specialize in beautiful and diverse handmade dolls. Barn means children in Swedish, and indeed, they design their dolls with children in mind, and with the strong wish to shape their future. Their motivation is to give children all around the world a unique friend who accompanies them through their entire childhood, and help them develop empathy to later become more understanding and sociable adults. At Malih nog naokrog, we have brought you the company’s recent and most gorgeous line, the EcoBuds ragdolls. They are the first eco dolls of Rubens Barn, representing an important step on a journey towards sustainability. The outer line of these pixie-like, nature friendly dolls are made of 100 % organic cotton, and certified with the Organic Content Standard (OCS). A Rubens Barn doll takes over 100 different steps by hand to create. The faces of the dolls are sculptured in soft fabric, for a more emotional and realistic look. Their eyes are important: they are embroidered and are what brings the dolls to life, and in combination with their warm cheeky smiles, make them irresistible friends. They are the softest things to cuddle up with, and they have really blooming characters. And they are looking for a new loving home now.
Rubens Barn have been working with a family-run workshop in China for over 16 years, which exclusively produces their dolls, and most of the seamstresses creating the dolls have been with them from the beginning. All of their products are CE marked according to safety regulations: EN-71, Part 1, 2 & 3 and ASTM. The producer partner is certified according to ISO 9001.
