ABOUT NOEMI

Noemi is an expat mum, play mentor, and educator, as well as co-founder of the Slovenian and international webshop Malih nog naokrog. But above all: she is a passionate advocate for magical childhood! She loves open-ended play and arts and strongly believes that they are the secret key ingredient of a creative and successful future – not just for the individual child, but also for the world as a whole.

Noemi offers individual consultations, as well as different events and workshops to help parents recognise the power of play and support their children’s development through it. She can provide guidance on play stages, creating a supporting environment, selecting the right  developmentally appropriate materials and activities… and yes, she can even help you how to play more with your toys! (the very questions she receives the most often!)

ABOUT GNEZDO

Gnezdo is a family center in the heart of Šiška-Ljubljana brought to life by Montessori and Pikler educator, Mojca Košič. It offers various activities for parents with young children interested in natural childhood and child development, alternative pedagogies and conscious and gentle parenting.

18th September
16th October
13th November
11th December

BUTTERFLIES:
9th October
20th November
18th December

We enjoy organized activities and workshops, but what we cherish even more is unstructured, child-led free play! This is why we turn Gnezdo into an OPEN PLAY STUDIO on some Mondays of the month. We welcome you and your  little one to explore and play together in a prepared studio environment bursting with colourful, open-ended natural toys and developmentally appropriate materials. Whether you come to socialize with friendly families, try some of our toys or spend some meaningful time in a cozy space, or ask play and development-related questions from our professional host, our doors are open!

We offer morning playgroup sessions for babies (CATERPILLAR GROUP for 0-12 months) and afternoon sessions for older children (BUTTERFLY GROUP: 1-6 years) once a month. You can book your individual sessions or join us with a season ticket for the whole season!

As an English-speaking expat mom, Noemi aims to create an inclusive environment where both local and international families feel welcome and can connect with each other through play!

PARTICIPATION FEE:

♡  6€ / 1 adult + 1 child
♡  or multi-occasion season tickets available at a discounted price

While you can book individual sessions, we encourage you to book your season ticket – both for our children and for us, it’s lovely to see familiar faces, belong to a little community and grow together through a whole season!

The participation fee includes:

♡ Tea, coffee and refreshments during the session.
♡ A curated play environment prepared by a professional, bursting with premium, high-quality natural toys to encourage creative play.
♡ An opportunity to hang-out in a cozy, homelike environment (without the need to put away the laundry!) with your mum and tot friends. Or an opportunity to make new friends and socialise. There is also a possibility to book the play studio only for yourself or a private group – read about this option below under soloPLAYDATE+.
♡ A possibility to chat informally and seek advice from your professional host on play development, preparing a home environment for play, and selecting the right toys for your child.
♡ 15% discount to use on your next purchase in our webshop Malih nog naokrog.

To provide a calm environment and a possibility of rich interaction with the toys, participation is limited to 5-6 families (1 adult + 1 child). Pre-booking is necessary.

You can reserve your place by clicking on the “BOOK A SESSION” button, and being redirected to our webshop. Please add the desired event to your basket and check-out normally as you’d do in case of any other purchase. Our system in this case, of course, won’t charge any shipping fee. Upon arrival you can show your confirmation email (and proof of payment) or just let us know your name!

All sessions are held at the Gnezdo Family Center (Trg komandanta Staneta 5, Ljubljana-Šiška) By participating on the event you accept Gnezdo’s house rules.

Cancellation policy: We know that life with children can sometimes be unpredictable, and sometimes you may need to cancel your play session. This is why we offer you a refund in a store voucher, so you don’t have to feel like the participation fee is entirely lost! You can use the voucher for a future playdate or to purchase beautiful toys and materials for your home from our webshop – the very same ones which we offer in play sessions!

♡ Gnezdo is easily accessible with strollers, which can be left under a protected roof in front of the place. In case you don’t feel comfortable leaving your stroller outside, we suggest leaving it in your car. Please hang coats and larger bags or backpacks on the hooks and racks in the lobby area, and kindly remove your shoes. Comfy slippers are provided if you’re not a fan of socks.

♡ We welcome you to use our child-friendly restroom upon arrival to wash hands. In Gnezdo you’ll have the opportunity to change diapers. We fully support breastfeeding and want you to feel comfortable to answer the needs of your little ones without hesitation.

♡ While we trust that everyone is responsible and caring for one another, we kindly remind you to ensure everyone is healthy – so all we take home from the session is fond memories! If your child has any symptoms of illness or your motherly instincts tell you they are getting sick, please stay at home and rather cuddle! There will be plenty of opportunities to play together in the future. We recommend waiting 24-48 hours without fever before joining our play sessions.

♡ Food and drinks are generally not allowed in the play area. Please ensure that any refreshment are kept at  the designated area, so the play space stays clean and inviting. Please dispose of all garbage in the designated bins, too.

♡ The play and activity on open studio play sessions are unsupervised, so make sure you’re keeping an eye on your own little player(s) as you are responsible for them during the events. During the afternoon session, the space and toys appeal to children for a wide age range. Therefore we invite grown-ups to supervise their small kids (for safety issues like small parts) and older kids when playing near their younger buddies.

♡ We kindly ask that you and your children respect the play environment and treat the materials and toys with care and respect. Please handle them as you would at home and encourage your children to put them away after use (or if they are young, we appreciate if you do it yourself!), so there is enough space for everyone to play. If you notice any damaged toys, please remove them from play immediately and let the host know. Please note that you are responsible for any damage caused by you or your child while at Gnezdo.

♡ Please do not leave valuables unattended. While we strive to keep the space secure by locking doors whenever possible, we cannot take responsibility for loss, damage, or theft of personal items while at Gnezdo. Any unclaimed items left in our space will be kept for one month before being donated or given away.

♡ We understand the desire to capture memories of your visit, but we ask that you be considerate of others when taking pictures. Some families may not feel comfortable with their children being photographed and shared online. Please always ask for permission before taking pictures of anyone besides your own family. If we would like to take pictures at an event, we will inform you beforehand and ask for your permission.

AUTUMN / WINTER SEASON:

2nd October
6th November
4th December

Do you feel like you’re not the most creative parent and struggle how to introduce art into your child’s life? Do you feel lost  between all the perfect-looking Pinterest craft activities that sometimes turn out as real a failure in your home? Do you wonder if that’s even the kind of thing your child truly needs?

Our igrART sessions are here to give away the secret to creativity! And also, how to keep children creatives – because believe it or not, they are all born artists! On each session we create together in an open-ended way, focus on fun actions and processes, as well as different techniques. And we hope you will both walk away not only with a fun afternoon, but with the realisation that we are ALL born creatives!

If you’re new to process art and would love to learn more about it, check our Starter’s Guide that we send out before the sessions for first-time participants.

Currently classes are parent + child classes, not a drop-off class.

Address: Trg komandanta Staneta 5, 1000 Ljubljana
The center is nestled between two buildings, right next to Pedosana. There are many parking spaces available in the surrounding area (particularly if you approach from the rear), but you can also leave your car at the Aleja shopping center, which is within walking distance of the center.
